okay im removing my steering rack cause its leaking, I have everything disconnected and im trying to wiggle the dam thing out of the car. Is there any magic trick to doin this? I cant seem to find a way to twist or turn the rack to remove it. Does anyone have any ideas? im kinda in a hurry to finish this since its goin to the shop for graphics work in 1 day and i need to get it done before hand. thanks.

I've done the rack on my B13... what a major PITA that was.
Anyway, I found if you pivot the engine forward it should give you an extra inch or two of working room. Again, total pain in ass but eventually I was able to slide the rack out the drivers-side between the gap in the sub frame.

Total PITA that job was. I’m getting pissed just thinking about it.

thanks for the help, i just took the inner tie rods off and the rack seem to be able to wiggle its way out easier. hell i was putting new ones on anyway and i thought what could it hurt to remove them in the car, and yes by the way doin that job is definitly a huge PITA.

just use a backer wrench on the rear nut and twist the tie rod ends off. very easy to do .
