Cat Back Flowmaster or Open Exhaust?

Hello I'm new to the site, and as a matter of fact this is my first post. Ive been looking around for a while now but didnt see a post on a exhaust system..I currently have a 1.6 94 Sentra and am looking to put a exhaust on it...it will prolly be a 2 and a quarter inch pipe...My question though, is should i put a flowmaster on or a open exhaust? I dont really know much about them so you gotta give me a break there..The guy at the shop is giving me a great deal cause im going through one of my friends, he said i would gain more hp from the open exhaust and it would give me the higher pitch, rice rocket sound that you hear everywhere but would be slower off the line, and the flowmaster would give me a lil less HP but it would have the flowmaster tone and would be faster off the line...Which do you guys think i should get, they are both really close to the same price...Thx in advance

you don't need any larger than 2", and please search, use different keywords, there are tons of threads on exhaust systems

There is a lot of information about exhaust for your car on NissanForums. You should search in the section for your engine. I searched for flowmaster in the GA16DE section and got some interesting results.

If you click on the 'Search' link above and chose 'Advanced', you can search more effectively. Type in the key word(s), pick the section, and search. A search of titles is more restrictive, but hits tend to be more relevant.

From what I hear flowmasters suck for our cars. You'd be better off going with a magna flow if your trying to save some money. My sis put a 2 1/4 inch on her 1.6 200sx with a magna flow exhaust and it sounds better than my shitty stock nx2000 exhaust.

You could do what I did I have awesome sound on my car: hotshot header (I bought the weapon-r one and I returned it) don't bother with that shit, new universal cat 2 1/4 inch inlet - 2 1/4 inch outlet bolt on, 2" inlet midpipe with resonator 2" outlet then 2 1/2 " inlet axle back exhaust from ssautochrome awesome sound deep and clean not loud GA16DE puts out a nice sound you just gotta tune it right. That 2 1/2" inlet on your muffler will put a nice sound on it. The outside tip of the muffler is 3".
