I recently purchased a '91 1600nx, and stupid me, I didn't pull the stickers off of the side of the intrument cluster before I bought it so now I find out that I have a car that has the check engine light blinking on it, the car has 235,000 miles on it, runs decent, but the light is on, the guy I bought it from is claiming that it has been on since he bought it in 1994, and he claims the people at the dealership ssaid it was an electronics glitch of some sort, has anyone ever heard of that?

No, I have not, at least in a Nissan. I know someone with a Towncar with the light coming on, but no codes. It would be nice if you would have documentation of the diagnosis the dealership came up with. It may be a glitch. Without the documentation, it may be good to see if you have codes stored in the computer.

My parents had a 1987 Subaru GL until 1995... and the check engine light was always on... yet the mechanics could not find anything wrong with it.
