Im new and i got some question about the sentra

Hi, my name is Devon and im getting ready to buy a car. I used to have a 89 civic DX. When i moved to New Mexico i had to sell it. Are the 91 sentra's quicker then a civic? Do they come with DOHC or SOHC? Are there a lot of performance parts out there for them? Did any come in 2 dr? And my final question is there a lot of kool body kits for that model? I dont know nothing when it comes to nissan so please give as much info as possible. Thank you.

well im not an auto enthusiast, but i can answer a few of your questions.

-im pretty sure a sentra is faster than a civic, my bicycle is faster than a civic

-it does have DOHC

-yes there are coupes (no hatchbacks)

-and i dont know why you'd want a body kit for a nissan, they're styling is fine the way it is. only hondas need face lifts lol

-i would strongly recomend getting an SE-R if you can find one, they're very very fun and have a strong aftermarket community.

SE-r are hard to find but that would be your best choice and there are a few body kits but the best one i found was on ebay it was a drift style body kit.

i wouldnt dis on civics that quick, i have seen some pretty nasty civics.. since this is a 1.6 section, i am assuming you are talkin bout the ga16, they aren't that fast but have some really good potential, yes if you can get the se-r because they are better.. you can get a 200sx if you want a 2 door..

Go for the Nissan! They are great cars; I have both a 92 Nissan Sentra and a 2K Honda Si and I find myself having more fun in the Nissan as a daily driver even tho it's 12 years old and has 210,xxx miles on the clock.

I think both 91 models were about the same or close in horsepower rating. They are both great platforms for building on, but Honda never had a turbo motor. The early 90's Ga16's have very limited aftermarket support. If you want to do a swap search these threads and do some reading, because as I do I am finding that the nissan is cheaper (HP to $$$) to do.

HONDA HUNTING ANYONE?

If you can wait until you find a 91-94 se-r I would do it. The SR20DE is an amazing little engine. You could peice together a turbo kit from a SR20DET and have a car running 12's for $2-3K.

kinda what i did, but i was just looking for a manual in this god forsaken city of lazy fatasses who only want autos...and i stumbled upon my se-r. i looked for a car for a year and it was worth it...i think(stupid high beams).

just take a peak at se-r.net to see what kind of mods can be made to a sentra se-r...its incredible. but bone stock the car will beat ALMOST any naturally aspirated civic.(pretty much the ones with bolt-ons get raped)

im not dissing hondas, i like integras(though expensive as they are)...its civics that are sucky. they're not made to be fast, thus are not fast. simple. but then again, honda does do stupid things with the valves...they're not automatically adjusting like every other engine, my brother(who has a 91 integra) has to readjust his valve lash once a year, while mine are all auto-adjusting. i laugh at him. hehe

Yeah, SE-R is an awesome car I ever had so my suggestion is to get a SE-R if you are really lucky enough to find one for $2k like I am really lucky to have it for FREE.. It's beaten up and been sitting for long time so I asked my friend to buy it and he said if I want to get it, come get it. I was like "What do you mean by that?" He said "It's free." Now, I have it but of course, I killed the motor only 1 day I got it.. But hey, I bought a JDM SR20DE for only 350 bucks and it's running damn great.. $350 is all I have spent on my SE-R and it's already a Honda killer

You can learn a lot relatively quick by spending some time reading everything you can at www.se-r.net and www.sentra.net
