Sup, my GF can't drive stick... so i bought her a 91 sentra E- 3 speed auto - The tranny don't sound to good so when i replace it, what would i have to do to change it over to a 4 speed auto - I figured tranny, axles, ecu, mounts,....????
Your in luck, I have a 4-speed auto from my 1992 that I swapped for a manual tranny. I wanted 500 for the tranny, this comes with starter and torque converter and ring gear. I think I have the wiring harness too. I got the front brace for the car also available. I have the motor mounts for this tranny. I will sell it all to you 500.00 Shipping can be an issue though. Let me know if you need it. I will figure shipping if you give me a zip and town.

It wasn't hard, but it helped that Johnand did the swap first to let everyone know about the parts that needed changed over. We had issues with changing over the mounting brackets, you must change everything over, mounts and bolts. The wiring harness is not the same for hte tranny, the starter, ring gear for torque converter, the seperator plate is different, the front brace and dogbone mounts are different. The hardest part, trying to properly line up the clutch pedal and drill the holes. The manual has studs built into the fire wall for the attachment points. You now have to create bolts from drilling the fire wall. I used the rubber gasket as my template for this. Also, you need to have a block between the pedal and the firewall to align the pedal. I used hard rock Oak for this! yes wood. It worked. Its tricky getting the shifter into place and the rods connected. Getting the old stuff out of the donor car was the bitch also. Its not hard once you do things. I work on the car all the time, so its not a big deal. Have good air tools and breaking bars, because you will need them. You will also need a good heavyduty sledge hammer to bang out the CV joints to remove the axels,
You said you have a 3 speed, the axels need changed if you change to a manual or a 4-speed auto, I know this for sure. Be prepared to do this. I am working to get a site up and functioning for a very detailed explanation of the swap and tons of pics. I took pics of all the new parts and old parts and a process of doing the swap and all the problems we had. I will list part numbers if possible.

PS: If you need an auto 4-speed let me know. Its cherry. The thing has low miles and I used Mobil 1 ATF since new in 1992. I am first owner

Not hard at all, just time consuming. Click the links in my signature for the write-up in NPM, as well as a detailed write-up including pics, part numbers, and tips for the swap on my website, that I have spent the last few weeks updating.
