Just wondering, I've heard losing 10lbs=1hp and losing 100lbs = losing 0.1 second in the 1/4, so how much does that backseat(bench) in an SE-R weigh? Would it even be worth it to take it out? If I can lose 2 or 3 tenths off the 1/4 I'd consider it but is it even going to make enough difference for that?
the back seats in my car dont weigh anything at all. i can throw them in the air and have to wait for them to come back down. i take them out once in a while but that only so that i dont have more than me and a passenger.
Yeah, they're pretty light.
If you're planning on loosing 200-300lbs in weight reduction then you better bust out the dremel and be prepared to drive around in a car that is stripped of everything except your seat and a steering wheel. lol
Here's a linke to 20 pages worth of weight reduction discussion.
I took'em out of mine for a little while, but they are so light, it isn't worth losing the good looks and convinience of them. Move your battery to the trunk, and get some really light wheels and suspension components to really feel a weight related difference.
