I have a 92 sentra e with 135k on it. Car was running fine. Parked it in the garage for 2 days. Went back out, completely dead. Ok, I think, need a new battery, current one is 5 YO. Charge up the battery, car starts right up, start off to Sears for a new one, and suddelnly, the car starts bucking like I never drove stick before??!! Went into second, starts off ok, then same thing. Happens though all 4 gears (Can't hit 50mph in 4th!). Turn car around, get back home. With car in neutral, engine gets to certain RPM, then back down (E's have no tack, don't know exactly what rpm, but not very high). So I rule out tranny as the problem. Check the plugs, they are fine. The problem happens at same rpm, so too exact to be a clogged fule filter, right? Please help, I love this car, but I am not dropping big bucks on expensive repair!

It could be worse. Here is a list of things, of which one or more could need fixing/replacing:
1) Fuel lines
2) Vacuum Lines
3) Air filter
4) MAF
5) Distributor (very unlikely, but not impossible)
Let me ask you this, does it feel like the car stops you from going above a certain rpm, that is, does it knock you down soon as you hit a certain rpm? If so, that could just be the distributor thats gone.
Good luck.

Yes, exactly! COULD THE DISTRIBUTOR have been damaged during the battery recharge? And not to sound like a complete dumbass, but what is a MAF?
I agree that it might be the MAF. Not too expensive or difficult to replace yourself. I think mine cost $70. Also check to make sure the grounding wire is clean and tight (I think mine is on\near the battery tray holder). Once I had the same problem as you and thought my MAF was bad. Turned out that that black wire was loose. No harm in checking. Good luck.
