I have a '93 Nissan Sentra and in the past couple of days I've had a problem where when I decelerate or stop, my interior lights dim, and my radio stops playing. I also have a problem where after the card warms up for 10-15 minutes, my interior lights sometimes go out (the headlights are not effected) - by moving the interior light dial, I can make them come back intermittently (is this a short somewhere)?

The car is also difficult to start the past couple of mornings - very slow to turn over, but does start up. Battery is only about 2 years old.

Based on some of the other posts here, it sounds like an alternator or electrical issue, but if someone has some things I could check, I'd appreciate it.

sounds like your alternator is going bad, get it tested.

thats exactly what it sounds like- it only takes 20 minutes to change it so its not to bad if it goes- unless your in the middle of nowhere. Mine actually went bad over a period of time so I was lucky- it was only charging at lik 10.5 volts. Enough to barely start the car a couple of times- As soon as I got the alternator (our distributor didnt have it in stock) I couldnt start the car again to get it in the shop- It had just barely made it.

Update - Car died on me late last night, so got it in to the shop this morning (after 3 jump starts in the snow/blizzard here in MN this morning - not fun). Bad alternator as well as a dead cell in the battery. Replaced 'em and everything seems fine now.
