Question Tuning the cams ???

I recently had my JWT GA16DE cams installed, and when I wen to get my car, my mecanic told me that he suspected that they may need more tuning. Personnaly, I am not a mecanic and dont really understand.Furthermore, I already have a JWT ECU so everything should be fined tuned for the cams, since the timing is advanced, VTC points and a host of other things. My mecanic also told me that when he finished installing the cams, my car wouldnt idle at all. So I dont understand what kind of "tuning" could be done at this point, but if it could increase power and help determiner when I am supposed to shift (because I have a digital Tach and a 1993 model so there is no fuel cut. Therefore, I am always worried of going to high and damaging my engine, or shifting too low and not using all the powerband. ) it would be all good.

You will need to make sure that your timing is no higher than factory specs so as to run the cams right. I don't know why you're still having a lopey idle with the reprogrammed ECU, but I think you could tune further with an S-AFC or Emanage to get the car to work right.

Get an aftermarket tach if you don't have a factory tach to help you stay in the right powerband. Good luck.
