i've had my springs on for awhile since beggining of summer and its almost the end. but i was just now woundering why is that it didnt look like it has dropd that much' i know i did it rite. it rides nice just a tiny bouncey ride...
i got a b13, 4dr, E-type...
2" Drop Zone Springs
... does anyone have pictures of there ride AFTER they put in (2 inch drop SPRINGS??)
here's mine its primer'd up because i was gonna get it paintd soon but the drop looks like .5 and its suppose to be 2"!!
I had the Tokico spring/strut set (garbage), and it sat about the same - a number of people running Tokico springs have the fender gaps perfectly even - the back didn't lower much at all.

My H&R's are about the same upfront but way lower in the back. That's wierd.
The tokico shocks and springs work great. Good enough to beat a BMW 325 through the hills of hollywood. On the track the setup wouldn't work so well. Tokico shocks/springs are garbage? I don't think so.
It looks like you are lowered around 1.25 inches. I wouldn't recommend going any lower. It will make your car ride like shit.

Good write up. The H&R's must be lower in the back than the other ones, i'll try to post a pic of mine but it's kinda hard to tell in the pic, but it's difinately lower than even the pic in your write up w/ uncut tokico's.
My car, very hard to tell w/ this pic:
My friends car w/ H&R and AGX, a little exaggerated because he's turning but it's pretty close:
I drive my 91 SER very hard at times on the street but I dont race at the track. I've come off an exit at 70mph and drifted into the turn with slight over steer and the Sentra recovered nicely. Tokico shocks are not the best suspension available but it is not garbage. The ride is stiffer than stock but it handles way better than my previous vehicles(71 chevelles, 65 El camino, 91 Saturn, etc.) except for my 73 240z which had adjustable tokico shocks & springs which handled better than any thing i've owned. When you make a bold statement that Tokico is garbage i've got to laugh because it is not the case with my experience.

I think he means that it's garbage for the track, and around town depending on your "tastes" it would be fine. My H&R's are not ideal for the track either but being that I drive a sentra, i'm not spending big cash on it. That's for another time and another car, i'm just having fun w/ mine and trying to be competitive w/ what I have. The only problem is a great set up for serious track work will cost $$ for coilovers. So I've never been in a car w/ tokico's but I would assume for aggressive street driving they would be fine, you just have to learn to drive w/ the set up like any other.
You will find that in aggressive street driving, a better strut (even if you change nothing else), will dramatically improve the "feel" of the car, and your confidence as a driver. The difference between Tokico "Blues" and KYB AGX (still not the best strut), is so phenominal, so dramatic, so controlled and so confident that only then you will understand that the "blues" are garbage.
For your apparant purpose, they are fine. They keep the springs from flying out, and they attempt to contoll spring oscillation.
I described my intentions on my site when I bought the Tokico kit, and at the time I couldn't understand why everyone hated them so much. Now, after having had them for over a year, one full season of autocross, 25,000miles, frequent in-depth testing and tuning, I found they were deficient.
I have nothing but positive to say about Tokico Illuminas, and I am looking forward to trying Konis. I will not buy "blues" again.
I would hazard a guess that you have not tried any other strut. Try it. Drive someone else's B13. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprized.
Keep smiling. I tend to be overly "black or white" I didn't mean to offend you. But I think you do need some more experiences.
Yeah. I agree with you. I know he likes to race at the track. I had mentioned that the tokicos are great for around town except for the track. I never suggested that his experience was a fallacy. I'm not trying to get the best track time driving to work.
Yes I do need to try different suspension setups. I hope some one will give me the chance at an SER meet. I got defensive when you made the statement "garbage" since I hadn't noticed any thing out of the ordinary. The suspension that's on my car was like that when I bought it. I've drivin in a stock sentra & I liked the Tokico blues over the stock ride. The Illuminas on my 240z were definitly track ready shocks so I could tell that my Sentra could be way better than it's current configuration. Thanks for your not so black and white reply.
