Recently while changing my brakes the bolt that holds the caliper broke off. I was told i need a new caliper. Does this sound right. If so can i get get a caliper from a non SE-R or are they different sizes. I'm not sure but i think they are. Any help with the problem would be greatly appreciated.

THE bolt? There are two bolts holding the caliper to the hub. These are 17mm. You're not talking about the slide pins which use an Allen wrench?

Also, SE-R calipers are different from the other models.

Well i took it somewhere and the guy said it was the slide pin but it doens't have an allen wrech head on it. Yes i know they are to bolt it was one of those the bottom one of the two.

If the slider is broken then you are going to need a new caliper.
