A question

Is it because nissan wanted to be different or is there a real diff in "twin cam" and "DOHC" as far as i can tell there both overhead cams? sorry just wondering thanx

They both mean the same thing. Your are most likely not going to have an I-4 engine with two cams and NOT have them be overhead.

"Twin cam" and "DOHC" do not mean the same thing.

DOHC is dual overhead cams, taken to mean cams-in-head, separate cam for intake and exhaust.

Twin-cam just means two cams, though it is often used interchangeably with DOHC, a la Alfa Romeo. Ford made a SOHC 426 CI V-8 for NASCAR duty in the late-60s, so it has two cams, both in-head. It's twin-cam, but not DOHC.

Is was for Le Mans, no NASCAR...

NASCAR sucks, Le Mans rules all!

Ford actualy won Le Mans with that OHC 427 in the mid/late 60's GT-40's.

Ford was out for blood against Ferrari, they wanted to win BADLY, so they removed the limits on the racing budgets,a nd they won a few times. YAY!
