Lightbulb Top mount intercooler

So if one was to purchase a sr20det with the top mount intercooler, what is the option to get air to the intercooler?
I have been looking alot for scoops in various hoods on various cars and wondering what would work best. So far what i have noticed is the WRX, and today i say a [dont laugh] a Yugo, had a interesting scoop in the hood located on the left side. what other options are there? Also in reference to cost.

Most people that do DET swaps dont leave the intercooler on top. If you get the GTi-R DET the top mount WONT fit under a stock hood. The best thing to do (IMO) would be to run it down front. Mandrel bends arent that expensive if you know where to get them. Or you could just buy a pre fab kit like this.

I wouldnt put a hood scoop on my car. Ive never seen one that looks good. If I ever saw one that was decent looking I may change my mind. And I dont have any scientific proof, but it seems to me like the front mount would stay much cooler just becsuse its not sitting right on top of the engine.

And a scoop would really make your car stand out. Unless you are in to that sort of thing.

The front mounts work better but hood scoops, when functional, are ok too. JGY customs has a good price on the Hotshot FMIC kit if you want to go that way or there have been some people who front mounted their stock intercooler.

yeah...if you do decide to go the FMIC route, try contacting sr20development. it's cheaper than hotshot and its great quality and minimal cutting.

I like the look of the hood scoop into a top mount. Just not sure if it ends up being that much cheaper after cutting install and painting.

Hey jerry, my DET for yours if you got the money, long story, give me a call and I'll elaborate. I ended up going with a high compression DE and I'll have it in this week.

And I think that WRX scoop looks bad ass in that pic, whats wrong with you guys!!!!
