i just got a 93 se-r, automatic. i notice that when u really step on it from a dead stop it doesnt even want to go. its like u gotta gently step on the gas and then accelerate.

does anyone know some good ways to launch an automatic? it has great power at high rpm but i want to get a fast start.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!!

You need to stall it up or foot brake it. This means hold your left foot on the brake and step on the gas with your right. You will need to try different RPM's to see what RPM makes the car leave the line the best. I would guess around 2000 RPM to 2500 RPM. If you do this don't hold the car back for more than 5 seconds at a time. You will start to build too much heat in the transmission.
