CAI midpipe on 91 sentra volume question

Hi, I have a question about the pipe that goes from the intake manifold and the MAF. I heard somewhere that the volume of that piece is programmed into the MAF, and it has to have a certain volume, otherwise the car won't work properly. Is this true or can i just make my own?

I've never heard that. 2.5" intake piping is what size is optimal for a GA16DE. As long as you follow that you'll be fine. Also, if you're making a CAI, try and make that MAF to filter tube as long as you can and keep all your bends minimal. Good luck with it.

I got one from ebay, I'm not to sure on that volume thing, but the 3" midpipe I put on mine helped it breath pretty damn good in the mid to high revs. I picked it up for around $30. well worth it. Team that with a pop charger and your in there!

I almost bought one of those mid-pipes off of ebay, but I'm not willing to pay $46 shipped for it, which is what they're going for on eBay right now. $46 is a good deal, but my top dollar is about $10-$15 less than that.
