Talking How To Take Moonroof Off?

The moonroof on my '94 Sentra started to leak. I'd like to take it off to see what's leaking. How do I take it off/out? Do I have to pry off the plastic tabs on the exterior of the moonroof to expose screws?

Also, I suspect that the plastic molding that goes around the moonroof on the outside may be letting in water. If so, what can I do to seal it? Is there a common sealant people use for this?

Thanks,

--John

There should be some black plastic trim pieces around the sunroof assembly in the inside of your car. Those should just pop off, and you will see 3 nuts w/ intergrated washers on both sides of the sunroof. Remove those 6 nuts, and the sunroof will come right out. This is the basic idea b/c I did this over the summer. My sunroof wasn't leaking, but it wasn't opening all of the way. You can adjust the way the sunroof sits in the track b/c the bolts sit in a notch that has adjustment. Adjust it a fraction one way, and pour a cup of water on it to see if it helped.

Hope this helps,

Josh
