Anyone demented enough...to attempt a 4WD Sentra???
I'm thinking since you can put a 4WD drive system on a Sunny...and can put a Sunny engine in a Sentra. Someone out there would be sick enough to try it...
Suprisingly,Nissan did build a AWD B13 for domestic market use! The only reason I know this is that I posted the same question a few days ago,and someone told me about it.It's a Nissan Sunny (B13 chassis)with ATTESSA,and has a SR18DE(not T) powering it.If you look up the Nissan Sunny GTiR(N14 chassis),you'll eventually come across a picture or two of the undercarriage, and see that the car has some unusual features.anyway,if you'd like to know more, send me an e mail, and I'll try to answer any questions that I can(I'm still trying to get some more research done to see if I want to attempt it myself!)

There was actually a thread on this before, I have a vision of how it could be done for around $5000 or under if you do all the work, serch for "rwd b13" maybe, or "rwd conversion". It can be done if cheaply you're handy in the fabrication department.
well you could swap in an SR20DET AWD and use an transmission drivetrain or driveshaft from an Infiniti G20.....
It would work.. but just go out and buy an AWD car... unless you absoultly have lots of time and money to blow....
YOu really wouldnt need the AWD unless you wanna rally or poor road/weather conditions.
But its up to you.. sounds insane though..
But a sweet idea
I think that using the AWD version would be simpler in the long run than doing a straight RWD version, since the lack of popularity for the conversion seems to hold down the price on the AWD transaxle, and the B13 body takes the SR20 stock in a transverse mounting. All that would be needed for the rear portion of the drivetrain would be a complete rear suspension bolt in subframe with suspension.According to the information I have gathered about the Pulsar GTiR(my preferred donor vehicle because of track width) the subframe for the rear suspension is retained by 4 bolts, and comes out as a complete unit. All that would be needed if this is the case is welding in 4 reinforced mounting points, and maybe fabricating a new trunk floor out of flat sheetmetal. It also appears that the fuel tank in the GTiR has a kick up to allow the driveshaft to pass under it. By the way,my budget for such a thing would be less than $5,000(doing all the work in my driveway ).

I have heard this topic come up numerous times over many years. Seems like every few months someone asks about doing this on the sr20de forum, but nothing gets accomplished because reality sets in, and its not worth doing. It would be a nice project, but too much money needs to be spent to fabricate everything to make the car AWD. Anyway, if you're serious about doing it, best of luck to you.
