emission test failed - fuel tank pressure
Hello all,
I looked around the forum, but didnt see anything. So my car got stolen, and returned in worse shape than it originally was in (obviously). Im working on getting it registered, and everything seems to be fine except the gas cap pressure failed (big deal... but a new gas cap), and secondly, the tank pressure. Apparently there is a leak somwhere between filling up, and the engine.... heh...
I called my local auto mechanic, and they are going to look at it and hopefully find "where" the leak is. When I called, he said it could be 3 things, the gas line to the engine, the tank itself, or i think he was talking about the connection between the two.
My question is, how difficult is it to fix/replace any of this stuff? Is their anything special or difficult about this process? I would rather avoid having to drop the tank, but we will have to see. Where would the leak "most likely" be? Any response would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Matt
