KNOCK IN WHEEL WELL

Hi all I have 92 sentra xe which has developed a knock or poping that sounds like it is coming from high in the wheel well (front left side) when making sharp left turns.Its been suggested that cv joint is bad.The poping sound(not clicking)comes at 1 second intervals while turning left.Also car is auto trans. Thanx in advance

you need to replace your axle from the sound of it. the only other thing that I can think of is a strut mount but that wouldn't make a sound in a steady interval unless you were on a washboard gravel road.

I replaced both shafts and everything is just fine. Its hard to believe the shaft was making that sound but it was. thanks! this has had me puzzled for some time. Thanks again!!!
