First i just wanna say wassup because im new to the boards.
But im going to be stationed at offutt AFB by the end of the month, i been building old school toyotas for a while and i thought i would do something different. A buddy of mine alex has a b13 with a sr20 in it right now and he just loves nissians, so imma try it. This is gonna be a sleeper project, 2dr or 4dr, it doesnt matter. But what motors are a possible swap into these cars besides the sr20? or is the sr20 the best route? and is the black top or red top a better motor? with the b13 frame, what all is needed when doing the swap? different motor mounts or what? thats all the n00b questions ill ask for now, but for everything else more specific ill see if i do more research, if i cant find them ill be back on here.
there is a lot of info about swaps and the different configurations. The sr20det bluebird, a straight up sr20de or a turbo 1.6 you can built it how ever you want, just depends on what you want it for. If you want a fast straight line car for drag you can get the sr20's up to 450 whp. You can get over 250 whp with a 1.6. There are more options with an sr20 motor but you will need to swap ECUs wire harnesses motor mounts and the engine and trany of course. Mose parts though are direct bolt on and are swapable on the chassy, just the drive line parts and brakes are different on these cars (mostly cosmetic parts are different). they are fast fun little cars, good luck!

Since the car already has an SR20 in it then most of the work is done. LoL
Sounds like your going to have a lot of fun with this car. The easiest thing to do would be to purchase an engine that is already turbocharged and swap over the parts that you need to get the turbo to function on the old motor. Really you don't need any special engine as long as you get one thats ready to go with the wiring harness, ecu, fuel rail, etc....
take your time and get to know the car before you start throwing parts at it because SE-Rs are a blast but are also a little bit finicky.
Spend some time here and on the SR20Forum and you'll learn a wealth of information about what you can and can't do and what you shouldn't do.
