Successful cluster swap in an auto.
Alrighty. Automatic wiring schematics are sure different than what stick shifts must be. I read it, did not believe it until I started to realize that not many wires were matching up to the posted website on this forum. I purchased a dash cluster from Ebay allegedly out of a 1993 Nissan NX2000 5 speed. I exchanged the speedo out of my cluster into the new cluster and changed the clear plastic window. I changed wires slowly confirming with an LED test light. I kept my cluster on the passenger seat as well as the new one. That way I could confirm the traces when I put the wires into their new positions. My Sentra is a 94 with no ABS or Airbag. Those lights I did not attempt to hook up. And the low fuel light. I was left with 2 wires left over. One was and additional parking light, the other was an ignition. Everything else works. Turn signals gave me a fit until I looked on the forum and realized that the hazard switch was still in the back seat. Duh. So if you do this, make sure that you have the time and the patience to work this problem through. The tach wire was in the behind the pocket/cup holders in black tape on the right side. Took it for a ride and everything works like a charm. Turn signals, cruise, OD on/off, fuel, temp, door adjar, seatbelt, oil and charge idiots, clock, illumination, high beam indicator, check engine, speedo, and tach. Just thought I'd pass my thoughts along, thanks for reading.
