Just got a 92 sentra (GA16DE) with only 76,000mi on it and it's in GREAT shape! looks and runs EXCELLENT!
Took it for emissions test this morning in CT, and it failed with VERY high CO numbers. According to the results, 0.8 is the CO limit, and my car blew a
6.14!!!!!
(it also failed on HC, but only by a little, and I'm assuming that it's the same problem that's causing the CO).
Only symptoms:
The heat gauge, since I bought the car a few weeks ago, has remained just a bit north of 1/2 - - certainly not in the danger zone, but probably higher than it should be. Also, once I got home from the emissions test, I noticed that the intake hose was loose at the throttle-body. Now I know that this is probably considered a major problem, but even though the clamp was loose, the hose was pretty well sealed around the throttlebody flange.
Anyone got any ideas??? it's not throwing a Check Engine Light, and the car runs PERFECTLY!
thanks a lot for the help!!
