I know already some of you are going to get mad at me, but I have been searching for days trying to find the answer to my questions. I just joined the board, but I have been reading posts here since I bought my 92 sentra XE about three months ago (best running little car I have ever owned, don't laugh). I love the site, gets tons of very useful info, but the search feature is not that great (90% of the posts I read on the subject say do more searching). Down to my question. I am looking to swap the 1.6 engine to the 2.0, but I cant seem to find a list of all the parts required to do so. This is my daily driver, so I am not looking for extreme performance. I just want to know if it will bolt to my auto trany, and what all parts are needed, wiring harness, ecu, etc. Please I am begging you much more experienced guys (or girls) to help out with some links to old threads, or some good old fashioned advice. If I can be of any help to any of you, I will, no questions. I know you guys hate retyping all of this.
P.S. I use to be big into VW's (air & water cooled), but once I got my Nissan I parted out the bugs, and sold the GTI. I was also a long time member of VW Vortex, so I know you guys hate answering the same question a million times.

the trannies wont swap over. the GA16 has its own tranny, as does the SR20.

Here you go. Everything you will need to do the 2.0 turbo and nonturbo swap. That link is about a yr old so there are problem some other items you could use, for instance, instead of getting the axels from a 2.0 equipped model, there should be a couple of websites that have adapters for the 1.6 so it'll work.
Just to let you know- even though it seems like a relatively simple swap, it won't be cheaper than $1200 even if you do it yourself. So I'll give you a heads up on the money involved. Good Luck

Why hasn't that link been posted before. It is a MILLION times more informative then the stickies we have for the 1.6 to 2.0 swap. I wouldn't have even had to ask questions in that other post because it answer EVERY single one. Man, now I'm irritated and annoyed... however it also upped my confidence in being able to complete this swap myself (and maybe another pair of hands) in a short time.
Its been posted before- way back in the day. I just happened to be on the other forum at the time as well as here. If anything, having links to both forums works better than just one.

Thats becuase the purpose of the sticky here is newbies ask 5 million times how much a GA to SR20 swap cost, and what parts are needed. Wasnt intended to help you get the swap done lol
