I heard good stuff about the B13 SE-Rs, and I want to learn more about them here are some questions. (I searched before.)
1. I heard the tranny on the car is weak. What's a good deal for shotpeening the gears and cryotreating the tranny?
2. What are some aftermarket companies that make LSDs for the B13?

1) Buy a B15/P11 tranny instead. Should run you 800-1000 or so. Much stronger beefier gear case, a couple of critical new parts inside. You will have to change it from hydraulic to cable actuation. Otherwise it bolts up pretty easy (relatively speaking). You can see a write-up of this procedure on SR20Forums.com under the Technical Library. (Hope I'm not breaking any rules by referring you to another forum. If so sorry, I'm just a newb. LOL.)
2) Nismo, JGY, and if you can find one used, Quaife.
Good luck.

I don't think there is anything wrong with refering to any other forums as long as the question is answered that way.
And Since you seem to know what your talking about since you've been around a while.....I'm sure they'll let it slide.
Yup, yup, yup. Neeeeeewb all the way. LOL. I have a post or two over on that other forum. In fact your name looks pretty familiar....
Cool on the cross-forum referral deal. Glad its not a big issue. Hell if he's going to shotpeen, or cryotreat, and/or weld the B13/14 tranny, he may as well just get the better tranny and be done with it. I didn't know if there was a write-up here or not.
Don't let me fool you, I have zero actual mechanical skills. But I read a lot with an unusually high retention level, and promise not to spew any BS info. That B15/P11 tranny swap is very well documented and is definitely a better tranny.

well, this has all been rather amusing, for a few moments, but if we can return alittle sense to this thread, i have a concern,

now, howabouts would one go about doing that? my tranny has 180k on it, and while its yet to give me any trouble, other than the worn clutch it came with, i'd like to be ready for it when it decides to start shredding gears and popping.

Yep. I don't think you even have to sign up to read the SR20Forum. It's in the Technical Section at the top of the main page. Really well written, complete with detailed pics. If you could swap your own tranny, I'm pretty sure you could do the hydraulic to cable actuated clutch modification.
Being the mechanical ignoramous that I am? I'll buy one pre-converted from a forum member/vendor and have my mechanic here in Houston just bolt it in. That will be the last damn tranny I ever stick in my Classic.
Good luck.

As others have stated you should read the write-up as it details the changes that need to be made. You mainly need to convert the clutch arm from the hydraulic one that comes in the B15/P11 to the cable style arm that is in your current tranny. There is some minor grinding on the shifter stabilizer, but honestly it is pretty much a bolt in affair!
