Question GA16I Timing Cover

I am looking for any tips/suggestions. I am attempting to replace the timing chain guides and tensioner on my 89 sentra. I have everything torn down, oil pan off, have checked and double checked that all the bolts are removed from the cover - they are! It seems that the cover may be hanging on the guide pins near the bottom of the cover.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am afraid to pry to hard on the cover in case it should break. Should I try applying heat to the pins to get them to release.

Any help on this would be great,

Thanks,
Jeff

the timing cover is also glued into place by sealant. You can either separate the timing cover from the block using a very sharp object (razor blade), or just use a rubber mallet, and keep knocking until something comes loose.

oh yeah, also the pins are just guide pins, not interference fit. No heat necessary
