hello, is it normal for there to be more space between the top of the tire and the opening of the fender in the front compared to the rear?
What color were the OEM struts rear? (trying to tell if mine were ever replaced)
Can I use lowering coils with stock or stock replacement struts?
Anyone ever use the replacement "heavy duty" rear coils? How does the car sit with them?
what tire pressure according to Nissan, (my door sticker is unreadable) is supposed to be in the tires on this car?
Should I run the listed pressure even though I'm using 195/50/15 tires?
guess that's it for now, thanks
for tire pressure id look on the tire rather then on the car. Most of these cars came stock with p155/80/13's... so you're better off going with the tire manufacturer's reccomended pressure
yes the spacing is normal. stand back and look at your B12 from a side view. Follow the body line along the car, look at the height of the front and rear wheel lip in comparison to the body line. you'll notice the rear lip is a bit lower.
look at your front bumper if it looks like it is pointing up like mine then the rear springs are weak if not then it is fine. nissan factory pressure is either 28 or 32 psi I run 165/60r 15's and run the tire max of 44 psi it is a wee high but I like it I would recomend however 35 psi front and rear unless you are carring a big load then maybe go up a little if the tire will allow. remember that your tires are probably rated at a lot more weight then your car is so over inflating can cause uneven wear and underinflating can cause overheating. 35 psi is a good universal passenger car number used it on many cars through out the years never had a problem.
i had to replace the front springs on my 90 sentra last year. They were a dealer item that were $98 each. After looking for aftermarket alternatives. I found on ebay “drop zone” springs. For all four springs it was $89 plus $25 for shipping. It was a two inch drop. I don’t know about where you live an if to you a two inch drop is a lot to you. Its something to consider.
i personally have eibach sportlines on mine and the look preety nice. they have a 1.9F 1.5R drop which really evens out the wheel wells. the one problem with them is you are raising the spring rate rather much so new struts will be in order or you will bounce all over. also if you live in an area with alot of pot holes or high speedbumps i would not recommend these. other than those common downfalls for lowering springs the handleing is great for street and looks great too just dont expect an instant track monster out of it.
