I am experiencing a bit if torque steer when I give it the gun. Can feel the steering wheel pull to the right and then come back. Axles are new. Ball joints are new. CV joints are in good shape. Any ideas?
i get that problem too... i feel on my car that the table bushing are worn past the point where the car can be aligned correctly ... i canged axles, ball joints, tie-rod ends, inner tie-rod.. but the car still kicks for one side to another making a clunk noise under the chassis ... plus i got the pulsar sway bar... ill try to fix that up (next mod )
in the next few weeks ... ill let you know ...

torque steer? Sorry, but I highly doubt you have enough power to have torque steer.......alignment okay?
Alignment is fine. Had it done about 2 months ago in addition to having the tires balanced. Have been very careful not to hit any bumps or bounce off of any curbs. I can go down the highway at 70+ MPH and take my hands off of the wheel and the car will not drift at all. Straight as an arrow. Am planning on doing the Pulsar brake upgrade along with 14 in steelies and new rubber soon and will have the alignment checked again.
I would check all of you bushings on the swaybar and esp. the endlinks. Also check the large bushings on the rear of the control arms. there are steel parts encapsulated in rubber. I found that one of mine had pretty much disintegrated because the steel rotted away inside. I replaced both when I put my control arm brace on and the car feels a lot better now.
Torque-steer is normal because you have unequal driveshafts. Had it with my Rabbits, the ol' Fiat 128, you name it. It's kinda like flying certain planes: When ya lift off, ya gotta stab a little rudder to compensate. I just nudge the wheel as I launch is all. Best to yas.

i can tell u that it is DEFFINETALLY the bushings int he control arms , i bet if u jack the front right tire up u would be able to wiggle it, because im gathering that our trannys are more or less front right wheel drive considering thatboth of my b12 sentras have worn the bushings the same way

Funny you should say that because I just replaced both bushings on my car and the one on the Pass side appeared to have been replaced at some point. I was actually able to get it off of the control arm by just twisting and pulling on it. where as I am sure the driver's side bushing had been there for some time as it was cracked and flaking apart. I ended up having to use a grinder to cut it off and it was still a pain in the ass ...
These are the old a-arms out of the coup. You can see the old bushings, kinda, one was completly blown out. It was on the same side as the bent swaybar bracket. They fell right off the arm.
You may also notice the stock bushing has a smooth finish to it. The replacement bushing looks way different. More like a b13 bushing, all ribbed looking. Now that I think of it, the b13 bracket might be a better fit for the OEM replacement bushing.
With my stock engine I had no torq steer
With dual carbs there was none
With 7 psi I have a bit...
Maybe if I run 14 psi, but thats the next level, maybe this year
like i said its the bushings, if driving down the roads and u take the hands off the wheel and get on it and the stearign wheel torques but u still go strait as if the alignment were to suddenly change then u have old bushing play
I wouldn't think a standard E16 engine would have enough horsepower to have a torque steer problem. I know that was a complaint about the early Pulsars but that was the ones with the turbo E15 engine. It's probably bushings.
