Looks like my sweet ride (87 XE 2dr., 5spd) will be headed for Sentra heaven because of severe rust in the rear floor and subframes. The previous owner must have parked it at the beach, as the car is in pristine condition (body and interior are in showroom condition) other than the floor and subs. the engine and tranny are still perfect, (only 221k on the clock) so I hate to part with her. (or part her out) Any suggestions for rear sub and sheetmetal replacement? Thanks for any suggestions.
I you have access to welding tools it will be a joke to get that car back on the road. For parts of the floor that are not structural just rivet in some new metal. Make sure you cover all the new metal with some sealer such as tar.

yeah, if you can weld some new panels in it would be fairly easy to get the car back on the road.
After youve got the new panels in be sure to get the car treated with MING or some other antirust coating.
I took the car to 2 different rust repair specialists, and they both told me that it's not repairable because the rust goes around both rear subframes full circle. I'm going to sell it for parts or part it out. Look in the classified section for details. This really breaks my heart, as the car drives perfectly and the body and interior are perfect. Oh well, looking for a new ride. Thanks to all who replied.

yeah do it and then do a video of jumping the car over a jump or something! drive it till it actually falls apart!!!!!
Take LOTS of Pics and maybe some video! It will be classic!
I've actually seen a convertible sentra on airbags around where I live. I wish I had a scanner so I could show you guys what it looks like, cuz his car was featured in the local newspaper. It's all gangsta'd out and looks funny as hell, but still kinda cool, although I don't think that's what sentras should be made to look like. I'll try and see if I can use someone's scanner to show you guys this sentra.
personally i think a covertable/ removable hard top Sentra would be pretty cool! it would sure look pretty sharp and i know i would have lots of fun with one!
