stalling out

okay, my car is stalling out ,again. aparently, i hadn't fixed the problem that i had a couple of months ago. so far , i 've changed the plugs , wires, fuel filter, fuel pump, altenator, and even various hoses. on my way out yesterday, it just stalled like it wasnt getting gas. i ve talked to a few people and seems that im getting the same response from all of them. the fuel pump, but i already changed that and its not even 3 months old. what on earth, in this dimension, could it be. my patience is running very thin. i love my car to death. in my area, my car is pretty unique but im getting a tad tired of these fuel problems that ive been having . can anyone help, thanks

Do the 87's have an ignition control module? I had an 84 maxima that would stall occasionally at lights and it turned out to be the ignition control module. I think it is called an ignitor on my 89 sentra.

The E-series engine has a distributor and an ignition coil. It's a pretty basic system and should be reliable. I would look other places first.

On the 84 maxima, it was mounted on or in the distributer. On my 89 Sentra, it was a grey plastic piece with a connector molded into it, mounted on the same bracket my coil was on. It measures approx. 2in x 1in x 0.5inches. It is usually pretty costly to replace, I paid 80$ for my 89 sentra, I think it was around 180$ on the 84 maxima. It was around 6 years ago when the maximas went out, and my mechanic said there is no way to test them, but I just saw a sign at my local napa parts dealer that said they can now test them. I'll try to find a good link regarding the control module. My mechanic said that the ones in the distributer used to fail due to the high heat they experience being so close to the engine. Who knows?

I have only worked on an 84 maxima and my 89 Sentra with the ignition control module/coil ignitor. I haven't worked on any 87s so I am not sure of where it would be on your car. A shop manual for your car should explain where it is, or at least give you wire diagrams so you might be able to trace the wires and find it. Sorry, but check this link out that I found regarding these ignitor things.
