Which way to loosen pcv valve...

I know this sounds like a real dumb question, but do you also losen the pcv valve counter clockwise to remove it? The reason I ask is because I have tried as much as I can to remove the thing and it will not budge at all. I doubt it's ever been changed on my car and it is stuck in there hard. What makes it even more difficult is its location. Any tips on how I might be able to remove the thing? I've tried wd-40 and it didn't work. I'd hate to bring this to a garage to get done...

I think if you just keep going at it it will loosen up. Try giving it a couple gentle whacks with a rubber mallet.

try some heat too, boil a little water and slowly pour it ot whatever you want to loose up. Wiggle it as much as possible when its hot and then when it cools down it should come out easier.
