Hey,
rencently i had a chance to drive a friends B12, it is completey stock with a stick shift. After just 10 mins in the car i was blown away. I never realized how terrible the Automatic is...even with autosticking. The torque converter is painfully slow and eats power like crazy.

I was wondering how easy it is to do a Manual tranny swap. What tranny should i use? I have plently of access to diffferent tranny's ( the largest junkyard in Western Canada is only an hour away!)

What ECU would i need to change to and how would I mount a clutch pedal?

One more Q. Has anyone ever tried this before? How did it turn out?

You would use the tranny/clutch from another car with the GA16i engine. You would also need the pedal cluster the gearselector and center section of the interior console. You may also need to change the axles too.

BTW it might be easier and cheaper to just buy a different car.
