hi i got $750 to spend on some parts for my 1990 b12 sentra ... my car is hella slow
so is it a 1990? or a B12?
B13 chassis
1991-1994 Sentra and 1991-1993 NX B11/B12/KN13 chassis
B11 (1982-1985 Sentra), B12 (1986-1990 Sentra), and Pulsar
(the above is copied & pasted from the sub-forum page )
now, about your power needs?
i dont think there is much you can do with that powerplant.
my buddy has one and is saving for a SR20 swap. i was gonna recommend the same to you.

there are quite a few listed for $500 + shipping.
its a b12. i dont really want to go as far as doing an engine swap. i just need some stuff that will add in just a few more hp and parts for this car are so hard to find.
get yourself a hotshot header, custom 2 in exhaust ... if your good with tool you could make yourself a ram air of some sort. cost around 600 for the decent exhaust.

Agreed on the headers, very easy to do, and makes a nice, noticable improvement. The Eurocam is an easy install as well, and relatively inexpensive

2" Exhaust (no crush bent with kinks) with a good free flowing muffler (Magnaflow) and Hotshot header, just like most guys recommended. Great combo. Advance the ignition timing (free) to 10 degrees BTDC and use premium gas to prevent detonation for additional HP. If you have a couple of hundreds $ left, look for the Unorthodox Racing lightweight pulley (crank) for the GA16DE. Your engine is the GA16i but I really believe that the two engine use the same size pulley. You have to figure the belt size though. Search for Gates belt part number for the GA16DE for UR pulley mod.

Might I suggest some suspension/tire mods, won't make your car more powerful, but will make it quicker. Tires make a huge difference, go with some sticky rubber, I'm assuming you're rims are wrapped in dogmeat. This will make you quicker. If you're B12 is like mine, it probably rides like an old French station wagon, not good for fast launches and spirited drives. The car can go faster is you can put as much of your power to the ground as possible. Small powerplants are not forgiving to tired, loose suspensions and sloppy driving. The quest for power is addicting, talk to an addict and he'll tell you the more you get the less satisfying it is. Make you're car a hoot to drive, then look for more power (unless the mods are cheap/free/very good deal).
The ignition advice is probably (correction, IS) a waste of your hard earned dinero right now. Our dear little cars have rather robust, efficient ignitions and the only reason you'd need one is if you had reached the Phd. Level of Sentra Tuning. Another good expenditure of funds is an improved intake system. Preferably, one that is fun to make yourself... There are a lot of reccomendations on how in this section of the forum. Of course, I COULD recommend that you figure out how to work a GA16E Intake Manifold with a GA16DE Engine control unit... That would be a great project for someone with a little money to blow to figure out... yeah, you should do that Aww... C'mon... Please..

Suspension..... We got poly bushings available for the front KN13 swaybar. The KN13 swaybars are an excellent B12 upgrade. Get some good struts too.
x2 I think the suspension was a great improvement on my car. Definatley makes it a lot more fun to drive. If your thrifty, you can give your B12 a much needed suspension upgrade without breaking your budget.
2 relatively inexpensive things you can do on a budget. 1) Get bigger tires, even if you just jump to a 175/70/13, and 2) if your car doesn't have one, get a front swaybar !!! can be had cheaply at the boneyard, even a stock one is a big improvement over not having one at all .
get a messed up 91 sentra 5 speed with the ga16 de and take out the engine and computer and swap it in, can probebly find one for like... 300 bucks if its smashed and then do all the work yourself, relitively easy, have money left over to purchase a header back exhast system
dont forget to change the fuel filter, thats a almost free way to get cleanner pickup. and do the timing adjustment, do a custom aircleaner like minute rice so a search on that, then new plugs and wires, all of that togther wont break you much on the $$$.
ill say new rubber is a great way to dust that crx next to you in traffic.
the headder and exaust would be awsome i want to do that as well but ive been broke.
