ignition timing on GA16i

couple of questions, does advancing the timing on the GA16i help it any as far as slightly more power? what would be the negatives about advancing the timing?

Advance it to 10 degress (stock is set at 7 degrees) and it sure will add a few HP especially the mid range. Dropped89 dynoed his car a few years ago and he found that advancing past 10 deg. does not make any additonal power. It will just make it prone to detonation. Only drawback is that you must use premium gas or it might detonate or ping.

How does one go about advancing the timing anyways... It's not something really delt with in the ol' Haynes manual.

I'll give YOU a "suitable tool"....
