And the car is near silent. I wasn't wanting it loud, but I thought I might at least have a little bit of sound out of it. Oh, well. Its better than the headache inducing system that was on it (catless, 12" resonator, ebay fartcan). Also, it doesn't sound like an ultralight aircraft any more, so that is a plus.

That sucks. I saw your pics you posted of the parts, I figured you were going to at least get a little bark out of it ? I am not ready to do mine yet so i did the next best thing by going out and buying a cherrybomb and a nice chrome tip figuring that would get me by. After an evening of cutting and fitting, I was sad to hear that I only slightly gained any kind of exhaust tone.
Did you at least notice any kind of performance gain ?
Hey Nick your exhaust is probably quiet cuz of your 18" glasspack resonator. I dont have a resonator, and it is loud especially anything above 3000 rpm. Hows the performance gain though? I rather have a quite but powerful car than an idiot ricer, like my neighbours' Corolla that sets off alarms cuz of his big fartcan he installed which you can even tell made his car even slower.

Actually the more I drove it tonight, the better I liked it. No more headaches from long drives. If you really get on it, there is a nice mellow tone but nothing loud. Once its on there for a little while, it will probably get a little louder. It definitely feels peppier, but I don't know about any major gains.

glasspacks kinda break in after awhile and it will get a little barkier

A friend of mine has a loud setup on his '91 VW Corrado, and I think he would have prefered something quieter now, because he is out a lot at night at I've told him he wakes up the neighbourhood, so I can keep track of when he's out.
In the long run, unless you're trying to show off ALL the time, quiet is probably better. Our cars aren't famous for keeping noise out of the cabins... I know I'd prefer a quiet cabin over hearing my exhast all the time.

Yeah, I think in the long-run I will appreciate it. My Mustang with the longtubes, off-road X-pipe, and Spintech mufflers scares the elderly and small children on the weekends. Since I drive the Nissan everyday, I really don't need it to be loud.

ive always wanted to try those spintechs, but i've heard they dont allow much deep rumble like glasspacks do

I'm sure you've heard Flowmaster 40s at some point. If so, the Spintechs on my Mustang sound similar to Flowmaster 40-series up to about 3.5k and sound more like straight-thru mufflers (Magnaflows, glasspacks, etc.) after that point up to the redline. So you get the best of both worlds. The sound of a chambered muffler at idle and a deeper sound as it revs higher. BTW, the Spintechs sound sick with the cammed 4.6L's lopey idle.
