Well, newb to the Nissan world but not to the car world. From my S/N, I obviously have an SRT-4. That is my toy. My old man just sold me his little beater Nissan for $400 so I went and picked it up one weekend and it is now my daily driver. It is a white 4 door 90 Nissan Sentra XE, automatic and some kind of dinky motor with throttle body injection. Don't know the code yet.
Anyway, I have been trolling around here for some time trying to find information on what swap would be best. If anyone knows Miami, the traffic is horrible! I love the fact that this thing has an ATX but the motor, well, it is about to run over 200K miles! And I don't know what my pops has done to it since I was stationed in Norfolk for 4 years! I know it drinks oil like it is water, white smoke pours out if it sets for a few days, and I need a new pass. CV axle.
But back on topic, I just want something to get me on the on ramp and off the off ramp without getting myself killed by these Miami drivers! I may swap a stock motor in there but wouldn't mind a CA swap or an SR swap. I just don't have time for the fabrication new mounts may take. Anyway...I just wanted to introduce myself and BS for a second, if anyone has a suggestion, I sure could use it. Other than that, nice site!
Affirmative.
The GA16i is turning out to be a real sweet commuter powerplant. I don't think I've talked to anyone yet who has failed to cross the 150k barrier.
Just head down to your local U-Wrench-It and get a newer GA16i. I'm sure that it will serve you well. And for God's sake go to manual. Even in nasty traffic it's a better way to live.
Tune your new GA16i and you'll have plenty of exit ramp attacking power.
Eurocam it. CAI it. Hi flow exhaust it. Engine swapping isn't for those looking for modest gains.

Cool...Thanks for the tips. So my engine code is ga16i then?! Any descent vendors you guys can steer me to for a header, CAI, springs or what not?! The car needs work and since it was my dads, I don't want to get rid of it....I just want to be able to get out of my own way!!
Again, I appreciate the tips. The wife leaves out of town next week so that will be plenty of time to go to the U-Pick and dig!
Thanks bro. The fuel pump and fuel return goes in tomorrow. So I am looking at running 425whp or so. The 347 dyno pull was on 17psi Started leaning out towards redline! But thanks!

425 whp? Any idea what numbers you'll run? That is sick.

Well traction is always the evil one there. I will be happy to get kicked off the track with mid 11's. I just ordered my Spec 3 clutch, DSS 550whp axles are on their way and slicks should be here soon. Right now it's just a slow project! Thanks for the compliments.
You're making me wanna trade my SE-R for an SRT-4 lol.
What the SE-R lacks in gobs of power, it handles as I am sure you know. I have the Mopar Stage III coilovers and I don't think it even handles as well as my buddies SE-R. The SRT underneath still has the Neon big butt disease and sits up like a ostrich burying its head in the sand! I know my roots! I can call it a Neon! I have had 5!!! There should be gobs of power from the SE-R with a turbo kit right?

The 02-04 SE-Rs with the QR25 engines don't respond well to turbos at all (plenty of kits have failed for reliability and other reasons). The engine is just not built to support turbocharging like the older SE-R engines (specefically the SR20). They just don't make em like they used to . In fact, it's a rarity to see anyone break 200 whp with the QR25. When someone breaks into the 14s at the 1320, it's a pretty good accomplishment for a Spec V. So yea, the most modified Spec V's can't even touch a stock SRT-4.
