factory A/C compressor

Anyone have any idea on how much the dealer charges for a factory A/C compressor? I was told the aftermarket ones are junk and only last about a year??

A brand new one from the dealer? Christ you better be ready to sell a kidney. They list for over $500 at the dealer.

Unless you have money to blow, avoid the dealer...Personally I would get one from the junkyard...I don't think its too hard to tell if a junkyard one is good , I would turn the pulley on it and then turn the clutch part and if they both turn pretty good I'd say its a good one and saved 450 bucks...

hi,

i want to install an A/C in my 1990 Nissan Sentra. it did not come with the factory a/c

i called the local dealer, and he said does not have the parts.

could somebody tell me the list of all the parts i need for installing the a/c in my car, and how much a mechanic would charge to do the installation

I would go to a junk yard and see what you could get, some parts you should buy new but some stuff such as the compressor you probably should get used it would be cheaper, try going to this site-http://www.partsamerica.com/
enter you vehicle info and choose A/C at least you can see some of the parts you will need,
