GA16DE. They use the same engine mounts (or mount points) and the GA16DE engine gets about 20hp more than the GA16i. Not sure about the E series though. . .
Don't get the E if you want any increase in power, If you don't want to go GA get a CA-16de, 18de, 20e, 18et, or 18det. With these you will also need the harness, mounts, tranny, ECU, and some other stuff.

looking to keep my 5 speed transmition i have now
can i do that and still go with any of the CA engines?
or do i have to stick with GA for that?

Have to stick with the GA. Nice thing is, there is a good amount of aftermarket support for the GA16DE. Cams, intake, headers, exhaust. The GA16DE is a 25hp increase in stock form over the GA16i. With the right mods you could easily get an additional 25 hp or more.
