you'll have to swap engine, tranny, motor mounts and tranny mounts are different too if i remember correctly, ecu, wiring harness, and probably a few other things, If i were you, i would try to find a ga16de to put in it or something else other than an e16 because with the e16 you'll be downgrading(the e16 has about 20 less horses and i don't know how much less torque), but if power isn't an issue then go for it. I've never seen it done before, but i'm sure some other people can help out with the details.

Well the reason i was doin this is because I am low on cash and I have the e16i motor and all the crap. Horsepower IS NOT an issue with my project! plus i have a sister who drives like a freekin maniac so i think she needs the 20 less horses! to add on to all of that, the e16i is like super easy for me to work on since me bein 14 and all people look at me like im crazy as hell!

lmao....i'm 17 and people do the same thing. if you need any help...well first search but ask and someone can answer. the swap shouldn't be to difficult....but I dont know much about the GA setup....all i know is what minute rice said....but it is a "relative" drop in.....reason i say that is you dont have to manufacter anything to make it all work..just some physical labor and pain in the ass wiring to deal with.

yeah, i would just tear out the ga16's wire harness and ecu, unless you know how to adapt the wire harness' which would be usefull. than replace that crap with the e16i's wire harnees and ecu. it takes probobly 2 hours to take out a b12 wire harness, probly less if you know what your doing...that includes the removal of the dash and whatever else.

if your going to do this, my sugestion is to make sure you know what your guna do with the wireing first. im assuming you have all the right tools you need to right? your guna need just a few, the b12 is kinda simple, your mainy guna be droping the 10, 12 and 14 mm a bunch

dont forget to unbolt the exhaust, linkage and pop the axels out. one trick i've learned is to pop the axels with the suspension intact. that way you dont need to mess with the suspension at all.

since your only 14, this may be a bit of work for ya. so get some buddy's to come over and help, b/c this can be overwhelming. here's a small list of how i would tackle this situation.

-put your car on jack stands
-drain all fluids from your engine/trans/radiator
-remove wire harness(however your guna do it)
-disconect all lines coming off of the engine. like your fuel, your smog, your heater hoses and stuff like that.
-get the linkage, the exhaust, and pop the axels. (i dont kwow if the ga16de and the e16i axels are the same, someone else may know though.)
-after that stuff is done you should only need to unbolt all the engine and transmission mounts.(be sure to secure your engine before doing this)

im putting an sr20 in my b12, and i think its guna be running tomorrow...or maybe the next day. but this should be alot easier than what im doing...

dont foregt to have fun and get shit faced before tackeling any major project...such as this. i'll check in later to see if you need any more help or anything.

also just a tip....if you can keep your wiring harness completely intact with the ecu and such...you might be able to sell it for like $15 to someone who needs it.

every little bit helps

Here's an idea. Take the 88 to the JY, plus the old GA16i for a newer one. I don't know about SC, but around my town, I can get a GA16i w/ 80K-150K for a mere 100 bucks if that. Don't undersetimate the GA16i. It's not a GM motor, it just isn't gonna puke a rod. Nissan builds their motors stronger than most automakers. My 1st B12 had 155K and was seeing 6500rpm about 15 times or more a day. It ran great, but a year ago at 167K, I was t-boned, and I still drove it around running the hell outta it.
