What is the best way to fix a cracking exhaust pipe. it just a small crack. the pipe is not going to break in two.

Will regular aluminum tape work? or do I need special exhaust pipe tape?

I'm thinking about soildering it

Go to your local parts store and pick up a package of exhaust pipe repair tape. It's red and costs about $2. Do it right and your problem will be fixed, i.e. sand off all rust and make sure the pip is still a bit warm, but not too much. This will work very good, as I went through $16 worth of it to fix my Grand Prix's busted ass exhaust system.
