brake fluid level problem

alright guys i've got a dilema here, you know how as the friction material on your brake pads slowly wears away and the brake fluid level slowly drops because there is more fluid staying in the brake's piston assembly, well mine gets below the "min" mark on the reservior and then when i put new pads on the level rises above the "max" mark and then i have to press harder on the petal to get the damn car to stop. Has anyone else experienced this? Do i need to bleed the brakes or something?

Yes bleed the brakes and add fluid as it goes down, don't let it get low.

You must have a big bubble in there. Always start with the wheel furthest from the master. I just did front brakes on the Durango - 234.00$ for pads/rotors. OUCH!!

I just bled my brakes, pumped out all of the old brake fluid with the help of my dad. I think I had some bubbles before and I think the old fluid might have absorbed too much water from the last decade! So it is noticeably firmer pedal feel. Good luck.
