exhaust

okay i am planning on getting a new exhaust set up for my 89 ga16i. i am not sure how to do it though i need your guys help. i want to incorporate a glass pack into my exhaust somehow but i am not sure what the best way to do it is. what do you guys suggest? also is 2'' exhaust piping the best for the ga16i or should i get one smaller or stick to stock size? also what gains if any will i receive from putting as new exhaust? please help me out and try to be descriptive as this will be my first time replacing an exhaust system.

1st get some mandrel bent pipes to be sure your not adding any more back pressure you normally have...

2nd Have someone qualified do the welding...

3rd 2" is nice and wont be too fat so youll keep a bit of the of both world... when you get backpressure down, you loose some torque and get some hp.. (not much but still) at 2.25 its the max to go, 2" is a real nice upgrade...

4rt the glass pack can replace the muffler here and you keep the cat... if you got more money change it too for a bigger one that will flow better again... (those ga16i have 2 of them right???)
again you could always buy a header (ga16de) and have it fitted with you exhaust in the same time ....

5th gains will be around 3 to 7hp depending on wether you take the cat off/replace it or not and headers i would think 10hp would be the top with the complete kit...

Btw 2.25 is good also, depending on the other stuff youve done to the engine it could even be better...
