Exclamation Attn. boost-boy

Been thinking lately.(do that alot) Now that I have a very easy way to get just about any auto need, got a question. Will the CA18DET bolt into a B13?(non-SE-R) It seems logical since the B12 is a GA series powered car and is the B13. Next, the wiring should be almost a no brainer, since the B13 is a DOHC MPFI equipped vehicle already. The only thing I can think of as far as a problem would be the GA16DE's VTC timing, does the CA18DET have that too. If not, will it pose any real problem. I see quite a few B13's for sale around here lately, but no B12's. Honestly, i'd rather have the B13 as far as exterior and interior looks. I finally gave up on getting a different casr other than a Sentra, I have "CA18DET swap" permanently burned in the back of my mind, and whenever I go to look at a car, it decides to control my actions Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, noone has ever asked those questions before

Seriously, all the info you desire should be here already. Do some searches. I'm neither a DET nor B13 guru but I've seen this discussed many times.

Also alot of good CA18DET swap info on the EXA forum. Good tech source for all things related to the CA18DET.

It's easy to swap the CA into the B12 because the Pulsar NX had a CA engine. None of the B13s had that engine so cu$tom engine mounts will probably be needed. All the wiring will have to be changed whether you put the engine in a B12 or B13. So basically if you want to do a swap into a B12 go with the CA18DET, if you want to swap into a B13 an SR20DET will be easier because that car was built to fit the SR20DE, and therefore no custom mounts will have to be built. Hope that all makes sense.

I figured the CA motor will go in the B13 more effortlessly. They are both DOHC MPFI motors. If the CA bolts right up to the GA16i's mounts, why not the GA16DE's mounts? Ya know. I've been doing some searching, haven't quite found much. I might just end up getting a 88 Pulsar SE, that will be even easier to swap, as I'll just need the DET motor and ECU. I much prefer the Looks of the B13, the B12's aftermarket bodykits just don't exaclty suit my likings, but they are nice though. I would just go with the SE-R, but I can't find a cheap one, everyone is asking too damn much. Plus, i'd rather have the CA, i'm a rev happy boost junky, and I don't quite like aluminum alloy blocks. Well, back to searching....

What the Hell??? I was finally able to track down something in the B13 forums. Stupid motor mount. If it's just one, I won't have too much of a problem, but I don't have any welding skills, and I'll be damned if I pay someone outlandish amounts of money to do a motor mount mod.

SR20 block's are tough as customers. I've never seen one fail due to it's aluminum construction.

True, the SR20's aluminum block is much stronger than most other alloy blocks. Well, I have made up my mind, I will get a 88 Pulsar NX SE. Been drooling over it since I saw photo's of every aspect of the car. It already comes with a 125hp CA18DE, and that is enough power to tide me over until I get a j-spec DET motor.

Man, there is an awsome 88 Pulsar SE on ebay right now for sale. Beautiful condition. Only about 2K for her. Now all I have to do is bride my dad into loaning me the money until my settlement check comes in. Hmmm, wonder what would happen if my mom knew that half the hard drive space is my dad's porno pictures?? Maybe I'll go consult him on that.

He plans on getting a burner and a new $1500 Dell notebook computer. I was thinking of burning all the porno onto disc and selling it to kids at school. Man I could make some cash!!

The Pulsar is the one in Michagan. Absolutely beautiful. Last night I saw a old guy driving around in a SE for sale. Asking only $500, but it has a bit of rust(Always been an Ohio car) and 200K on the clock. The motor condition I don't car about, but a rusted car. Nah. Makes for an ultimate sleeper, but just too damn ugly. Sky blue and rust, not my style. For the time being, my mom said she'll buy me this Hyundai Excel GLS for only $150. I might take up the offer for the time being, just I can't afford insurance.

If all my spare cash wasn't designated to my swap I'd bid on that car. Be interesting to see what it goes for. Probably gonna be some mad bidding in the last minute.

Used to live in western NY, rust is like terminal cancer to a car. No matter what you do it will never be completely gone, and it always comes back. Used to own a sky blue Topaz....god I hate that color. Always questioned my own sexuality when I drove it...hehehe

What was more funny is us racing it against two chicks in a Grand Am. They actually ended up asking us if we wanted to go shopping with them
As for the Pulsar, still trying to convince my parents to loan me the money, and I said i'll even pay them interest. Hell, my dad's getting 14K, why not loan me the cash, when I have a large sum on the way in a while?? "Parents just don't understand"
