Idle too high?

Hey guys I drive a b11 sentra and recently this has been hapening.

I turn the engine off and sometimes it turns off like normal but other times it kinda keeps runing. It seems like its gonna turn off but them all of a sudden it jumps back up. I guess its to burn off extra fuel or something Im not sure. Well anyway it doesn't keep runing for more than like half a second.

Also it smells of fuel or gas fumes. The car did have a fuel line replaced becuase it leaked before maybe they didnt replace the fuel line right.

So what is it? Is it fuel pressure due to the messed up fuel line? Or is it the iddle speed? Sometimes I get in the car and it smells like gas inside I gotta get it fixed.

You've got two problems - 1) you're running too hot, and 2) the 'anti dieseling solenoid' is stuck.

1) Check for a vacuum leak, overly advanced timing, clogged fuel filter (anything that can cause it to run lean).

2) Check the solenoid. I don't have a CA carb to look at, but what you're trying to find is a solenoid in the fuel inlet section of the carb that retracts when current is passed to it (opening the fuel passage). It sounds like it's stuck open.
