Cherry Bomb Muffler???

I was with my friend at Canadian tire (getting a K&N filter for his Neon) when i wandered by the exhaust section. They were having a clearout on Cherry bomb mufflers ($29.99 Canadian!). Anyone have any experience with these? How loud are they and are they worth getting?

I gots me a Thrush 30"x2 1/2" on mine. Sound is pretty mild below 3500. Above that I'm told it sounds like an indy car. Nice rumble on deceleration. I LOVE IT!

It started as a temporary fix but it works so well I left it on. When I drop the CA18DE I'll have a serious exhaust built....some day over the rainbow........................ :-)

Don't know what type Canadian Tire sells. Basically there are two types, those with louvers inside and those with circular perforations inside. Stay away from the louvered ones.

Bought mine at Pep Boys for $19.99 US. Check your parts stores. If you are on a budget, like most of us at one time or another, it's not a bad fix.

However, if they salt the roads up there, count on it only lasting one winter.

Cherrybombs sound like ass, plus they are bright red so everybody knows you are driving around with a POS exhaust. If you want a cheap exhaust from CT buy the Raptor. My friend has one on his early Subaru Legacy and it sounds great. Low tone, not very loud, and kinda rumbly. BTW it will have to be a custom fit because our exhausts are ~1 3/4" but the raptor has a 2" pipe.

Don't know too much about them, except they're outlawed in Ohio. I just used a glasspack, and eventually no muffler. I cen't ever seem to drive a car right if it's quite
