Question 87 Pulsar WONT fire

Anybody know what the coil transistor on an 87 pulsar E16i is exactly??? I think its the little piece on the bracket attached to the coil. If im correct does any body got one????.....
Okay RESTART........Got Coil, ECU, Transistor, resistors, relays, etc from JY today $30 (same make, model, everything). Still nothing. Figured out of the 2 distributors i have 1 would be good!!! :-) But Im returning tomorrow for the distributor. They said the car was running when it came in was just totaled in rear. I trust my JY as I have been dealing with them for @9 years now. BTW Like I said...Out of 2 Distributor I have 1 would be good. And it not my money...Its a complete redo for a friend, and my JY is CHEAP!!! :-)
Also computer gave me code 21...Both computers.... (No ignition signal
Just put in distributor from car at JY. still no F@#$ing fire. Good cap, rotary, wires, plugs. Still getting code 21.. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a stereo in your car? Maybe you've blown the fusible link which have the capabilities of shutting your car down. If you've had issues with your battery pire, then 9 times out of you've blown the fusible link. Let me know.....

No stereo. Car was a salvage. NO motor, tranny, great body and interior. Ive checked all the visible fusible links and any others I can find, and they all seem to be fine. (tested resistance). cant find any visible breaks or damage to the wiring harness (inspected throughly before installation of motor) Motor and tranny came from 87 sentra with slightly different dist. and coil. BUT these have been changed now. AM I GOING TO HAVE TO PULL THE WIRING HARNESS FROM THIS THING????? and replace it or is there a MICKEY MOUSE METHOD known...

Do you know about the fusible links right of the positive terminal. Check them at both ends.

I've been in this boat. I feel for you. I cheated and went the easy route. I'll never pass an emissions test again, but I don't need to.

Whats the Easy way.. I dont have to worry about Emissions either. Not that it would stop me from doing it. I have acces to other nissan parts and a JY with quite a few B11 and B12's

Maybe one of the wires from the distributor to the ECU is shorted out. Maybe try running some new wires and see if that works

Next nice day I get Im gonna go through the wire loom and test resistance on every wire I can find. If nothing pops up Im going back to the JY and pull the whole wire harness out of the Wreck. If that doesnt do it we might have to try SLEDGHAMMER method.

Alright new question.... What (stock) intake would you recommend for the E16i. Just realized Ive got a friend with a tig welder that has made several intakes for Ford Pintos. Thinking of modding an intake to use the Weber 2Bbl. Most dont know this but Chevettes came with a (Holley liscenced Weber). Basically the same as they sell on the aftermarket, but much cheaper. The older ones were completely mechanical and take standard Holley jets. He told me to get the right Nissan intake and a Chevette intake and hed make me one in his spare time. The Carbs can be picked up for 15-20 bucks at most JYs and I have an old mechanical distrib..

Red face IT LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT LIVES!! IT LIVES!! IT LIIIIIVVVVVES!!!!!!!!!!!! Alright dont know exactly why but heres what fixed it. Got totally pisssed at this car yesterday, throughly inspected all wiring to and from coil, distrib, etc... and couldnt find a problem. Ran some of my own tests with no results. Decided F@#& it and starteed straight wiring one at a time. Got to the wire that powers the secondary circuit on the coil, hooked 12v striaght to coil and could hear dist arching!! (prob not a good thing) hooked into the supply line for the same and when i powered it, a RELAY (dont know which one) POPPED LOUD. sounded like it might have been stuck. ran my tests again and had power coming through the same line I had just shorted. hooked everything back up right. and IT FIRED! Got a fuel pump yesterday, and with a new injector it should be fine. But it will run if you prime it... ALMOST THERE>>>>..Thanks again guys for all the info. Ill try to get a more detaild description up here shortly, and maybe we can avoid this happening to someone else.
