Looking for Used Hood and Bumper Cover for 89 Sport Coupe
I need a used hood and bumper cover for an my 89 Sentra SE
(sport coupe)..
I'm located in Michigan just south of Detroit and I'm on a seriously
tight budget. Just had a kid and I'm super broke. Does anyone
know where I could pick these parts up cheap?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, are there any companies out there that make kit bumpers
for these cars? I can't find any online.
for the hood, it's the same hood as the regular b12's. the hood of my sport coupe was replaced with a regular sentra hood. so the parts should be the same.
bumpers are also the same. so if you've been looking for sport coupe specific items, you don't need to. just look for b12 parts.
You'll have to track down all of the correct flanges, bends, a flex pipe, catalytic converter (unless you are a polluter, then Captain Planet will kick your ass, green mullet style)
took another look. the bumpers are different, but not completely different. the bumpers have the same general look, but our sport coupe bumpers are pointed.

I'll use a regular Sentra bumper if it will fit. I'm looking at one from
an 89 right now on cardomain and it looks like it would attach.
You think? Thanks again for the response, bro. There are tons
of sentras around Detroit...but no Sport Coupes. I think I have
the only one. hah.
thanks man. found a guy with the nismo cam and ordered it, so it should be here soon, and i'm hoping to put b13 SE-R wheels on.
yours was looking really clean too. i'd say wait until you find a sport coupe bumper. because of the shape of the lights and the grill, the regular sentra bumper won't compliment the look, even if it will fit. keep looking, and if you go out of town, check the junkyards wherever you go.
sucks to be in the detroit area trying to find imports or parts for them. though haha.

Thanks. Yeah, for real...Detroit isn't the best place for import hunting. Hell, you get dirty looks just driving down the road. Hah. After I replace the hood and bumper, she's getting a paint job and a spoiler. I've just never really liked white cars. I want to do her in a hemi orange with black on the bottom. I just got done finishing me 94 Celica GT so I'm ready to go at the Sentra. The sentra is actually more fun to work on. Now the Celica is just getting garaged to keep her pristine.
yeah, the sentra will be more fun because it's a little simpler probably haha. but yeha, i like working on mine. i'll probably paint it as well. i'm thinking maybe the volkswagon metallic midnight blue. love that color. never been a fan of red hah.

Yeah man, It's waaaaay easier working on the Sentra.
Both body work and mechanical. As far as the body goes, everything
on the 6th gen Celicas has to line up perfectly because the bumper
cover lines up with the hood which lines up with the fenders, etc...
That blue is a sweet color. I would totally do that if I were you. I think
newer colors on our 80's cars really do them justice. Either newer colors
or classic, muscle car colors.
