puddles of water in my car

hey there i wanted to know if the 1984 B11 had any sealant problems. Everytime it rains or when snow melts i find a puddle of water on the diver side foot area and my wires are getting wet. Do anyone else have this problem???

Well, mine sure does. But since we have rather *warm* summers I figured it was due to the windshield weather stripping drying out. I have some serious areas where I can fit three and four tooth pics through. I used some silicone sealant until I can afford new rubber, but I am thinking I will most likely need to replace the rubber on my car since the previous owners didn't take care of it.

Does it appear to be coming from the windshield or possibly from under the dash on the firewall?

It may be missing a rubber access plug, I would look around in there and see if there is any obvious holes you could seal up with something like a silicone sealant. I will try and get out today and see what all there is in mine that could make a leak and let you know.

BTW, where are you from?

Yes, my '84 Sentra has the same problem, I have not figured it out yet, seems to be coming from high up under the dash somewhere, previous owner let the car sit for a LONG time and had so much water on the floor that I named the back seat Lake Nissan.

Wow, glue and string, makes you wonder about some people.

This one isn't that bad but the front license plate is being held on with baling wire and rattles like hell.

So far this has gone from one driveway where it sat for years to mine, so I don't think there is much opinion on it yet, I'm going to fix the license plate once the car is running again.

Well, this car is still sitting in my driveway and has had nearly $200 worth of repairs done to it and still doesn't run right, my opinion is not so much that the car is a piece of $#!^ as the previous owner is for letting this car get so bad.

try checking the seal on the windshield also, mine was leaking and causing the same problem as yours.

Its been a long fairly dry summer here, Lake Nissan dried up and has become a barren gray prairie, so far no plants or other colorful things have sprouted yet, with Fall and the rain that it brings right around the corner Lake Nissan will probably fill up again and cause all kinds of wonderful things to happen.

But until the engine runs and can pass emissions tests I'm not going to worry about the windshield leaking.

Hello everyone, Mine leaks too. Its the rainy season here in Trinidad and every time rain falls i get little puddles on both driver side and passenger side of my B11. The passenger's side leaks by the windshield but the driver's side?? i think its the door/and firewall.

True only if your door drains are plugged. Had a B12 that filled the PS door with water. I just crammed a stick in the drain holes and reamed er' out.
Not sure about the B11's. But B12's are notorious for leaky tail lights. I have to pull the drain in the spare tire well every winter.
