Oxygen Sensor Tune Up Question

Hey,
Im doing a tuneup on my Sentra. During my last trip to the part store they had 2 Oxygen sensors listed for my car. One in the manifold and one after the cat.

Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the GA16i Sentra have only a single Oxygen sensor, located in the exhuast manifold??

Also what is the proper plug gap for the GA16i? Depending on the source I check it says it is either 0.043 or 0.044 inch. Not that thats a huge difference, but which one is it?

You have only one ox sensor, its in the exhaust manifold.

Don't get a Bosch, get a nissan replacement.

Gap is .044 on plugs. Use only NGK.

.044"? I have always run my plugs on everything at .033"
I do recall the chiltons mentioning a bigger gap like that, but I haven't changed my gap from .033" I have noticed that the plugs after 30k miles were in sorry shape, one with a melted electrode.
Well I guess I will be changing my gap to .044", and see what happens

Bosch does not work as well on nissans.

I have consistently had to replace with OEM.

Save yourself the trip.........

Thanks, I went and ordered the parts from Nissan today.

Also a word of warning to anyone doing a tuneup, initially I had bought a Niehoff cap and rotor for the Sentra. These parts actually are of very low quality (plastic flash and connection issues from the box), Id highly encourage people to go with Genuine Nissan Parts here.

Just for the hell of it, Ill post a FYI tune-up write-up when everything is done.

Bosch sucks, face it. Mass produced, nuff said. And don't get me started on those POS platinum spark plugs. Genuine OE Parts are by far 10 times superior than OE Replacement. Also, a little info, one Bosch part number (i.e 12014 O2 sensor) covers many vehicles through many years. They are not as specific and OE.

Actually on that note, the pigtail on the Bosch sensor does not match up to the GA16i plug. Since modifying the pigtail or plug will hurt reliability, this part cant really be used.

Also true, that is why they also have universal ones where you have to splice and crimp the connector on.
