The pin that holds the govener gear on is usually a roll pin, and should have a split on one side. If you stick the govener assembly on something like the jaws of a vise, and use a trensfer punch, or a broken drill bit, that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the roll pin, you should be able to "tap" it out with a hammer. Since you say that the gear on the govener looks fine, you should also check the cable linkage that goes from the throttle plates to the transmission. If it were out of adjustment, or broken, the transmission would think it was at full throttle all the time, and wait untill you hit a high RPM to shift. If it does not have a throttle to transmission linkage, you might have a broken or leaking vacuume modulator (never seen one on a Sentra though).
