would it be possible to..

would it be possible to remove the gauge cluster from my 90 sentra and hook it up on my bench to a power supply to test the voltage regulator? On the plugs that connect into the cluster is their only one power and ground? And does anyone know which pins are which on the soldered in type voltage regulator? Thanks

you are going to need a multi-meter for this.

Set the meter on ohms/resistance.
Put one lead on the foil trace and use the other lead to poke around the plug end contacts to find the ground.
Now, remove a light bulb and put one lead on the hot contact and the other lead on the plug ends again to find the positive.

Use the same method to find the collector, base and emitter on the voltage regulator.

Also, question: why are you doing this?

replaced the voltage regulator and the gauge is still not right, wanted to make sure the regulator was putting out the proper voltage.
